About
In 1989, the Gowanda stage first echoed with the sounds of the wild for our original production of The Jungle Book. Long before the 2005 "Kids" edition, this performance invited the community into the deep jungle to follow Mowgli’s journey of belonging. Our students brought a raw energy to the stage, portraying the laws of the jungle and the bonds of friendship with a sense of wonder that resonated through the auditorium.
The production was a landmark of Creativity, utilizing inventive costume work and physical theater to distinguish the various animal tribes, from the hypnotic movement of Kaa to the playful spirit of the monkey troupe. The success of the show relied on immense Collaboration, as the cast worked to create an immersive environment that felt alive. It was a fierce and vibrant performance that showcased the early foundations of Panther Pride and set the stage for decades of musical excellence. 💙
