About
In 1985, the Gowanda stage celebrated the spirit of American folklore with the production of Johnny Appleseed. This quintessentially "frontier" story followed the legendary John Chapman as he traveled across the developing nation, planting more than just apple trees—he was planting seeds of kindness, stewardship, and community. Our students brought a rustic, heartfelt energy to the performance, capturing the simple wisdom and adventurous spirit of a true American icon.
The production was a beautiful example of Creativity and Collaboration. To bring the rolling American wilderness to life, the cast and crew worked together to create an organic, earthy atmosphere through folk-inspired music and hand-crafted sets. It was a production that emphasized the importance of giving back to the land and each other, a message that resonated deeply with the audience and showcased the enduring Panther Pride of the mid-80s. 💙
