About
The year 1983 took Gowanda students to the rugged American frontier with the production of Davey Crockett. A full decade before the 1994 revival, this original staging of the "King of the Wild Frontier" introduced the community to a story of grit, exploration, and the pioneer spirit. This production was foundational, setting the stage for the storytelling traditions that would flourish in the decades to follow.
The show was a triumph of Creativity and Collaboration, as the cast and crew transformed the stage into the untamed wilderness of the early 1800s. Our students brought the legend to life with a sense of adventure that resonated throughout the district. It was a spirited performance that showcased the early development of Panther Pride, proving that even in the early eighties, Gowanda’s stage was a place for big dreams and even bigger legends. 💙
