About
The clock struck midnight for the first time on the Gowanda stage in 1981 with our inaugural production of Cinderella. A full decade before the 1991 version and thirty years before the 2011 revival, this production set the gold standard for "Gowanda Magic." Our students brought the classic rags-to-riches tale to life with grace and charm, proving that even in the early eighties, the drama department was capable of creating a truly royal experience for the community.
This production was a massive milestone for Creativity, especially in the era of manual stagecraft. The "transformation" of the pumpkin and the mice required ingenious Collaboration between the student tech crew and the performers. It was a high-water mark for the early years of the program, establishing a legacy of excellence and Panther Pride that has been passed down through generations of performers. 💙
