Welcome to Silver Lake!
Meet our Office Team
Principal
I am the mom of two, and proud to support each of your families! I visited Key Largo and Washington D.C. this summer. This is Luke (5) and Noelle (Almost 1).
Assistant Principal
Ms. White traveled to Chicago and New York this summer with her daughter and husband, Mark! She, too, has an incoming Kindergartner, Amelia.
SECURITY UPDATES!
YOU MUST USE A VOLUNTEER BACKGROUND CHECK
If you are coming to campus, and have access to other students during the school day, you will need a volunteer background check AND a visitor's badge. Completing the volunteer background check can take up to 3 days. You need to complete this prior to accessing our campus! Please get it done! Click here to complete this now! THIS INCLUDES IF YOU COME UP TO CAMPUS TO EAT WITH YOUR CHILD(REN) DURING LUNCH.
WALKING TO CLASS ON FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL ONLY
Also, if you are planning to walk your child to class on the first day of school, you will need to print a visitor badge from the kiosk in our entry. You may print this on Meet the Teacher Night, Kinder Camp, or come up to use the Raptor System during regular business hours (7:30-3:30) to take and use the first morning of school only. You will only be able to walk your child to class on the first day of school.
Welcome to a NEW School year, Silver Lake families!
We are looking forward to seeing new and familiar faces. Our teachers will be welcomed back next week, in anticipation for the start of school- and we are very excited!
If you are not familiar with our school, welcome! We are a dual language and Experience Design campus. We have many students learning content in two languages (English and Spanish), and provide enriching experiences for all students. We have several theme weeks throughout the school year, to deliver our curriculum in a fun way. Learning SHOULD BE FUN!
This is a special school year, as I join you in welcoming my own child to Silver Lake as a Shooting Star. My son, Luke, will be a kindergartner and he cannot wait to be a part of the very best students and staff in the whole world.
There are many ways to get involved at our school. Volunteering on campus or in our PTA helps build our community- and you can always contribute in a way that fits your schedule. I hope you take the opportunity to connect with us!
This newsletter is to provide you with information you may be wondering about as we return to school, which we send out weekly, and if you have additional questions please reach out to our front office at 817-251-5750.

Silver Lake Elementary Principal
This video is from last year- there are no changes to dismissal! However, if you are new to SLE, this will help!
After the first week of school, YOU MUST utilize a Silver Lake car tag to pick up your child.
CAR TAGS WILL BE PASSED OUT AT MEET THE TEACHER OR KINDER CAMP. We ask every family to pick these up even if you think you will never use them.
For arrival, to ensure students' safety, the front parking lot will only be available for buses, staff, families with handicap needs (these families will have unique car tags), and any families with an appointment on campus in the morning. This will take place starting the 2nd week of school, August 21st. All walkers entering the front building will enter through the front doors.

The application will determine a child’s eligibility for free and reduced-price meals and may assist in the determination of eligibility for other state or federal benefits. Only one application needs to be completed per household. Schools will notify the household of the child’s eligibility. The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) administers school nutrition programs in Texas and offers an eligibility calculator at www.SquareMeals.org/ProgramEligibility.
Decisions regarding payment for school meals are made at the national-government level, not by the school nutrition team or TDA. The dedicated staff in Nutrition Services is looking forward to serving healthy, balanced meals to students in the new school year. If you have any questions, please call 817-251-5617 or email child.nutrition@gcisd.net
This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

Please allow extra time before your scheduled time to get checked in. You will need to bring your own lunch as we will not be able to accommodate visitor lunches through our lunch lines at this time.
