News to Note
It was a pleasure seeing so many first grade families at our grade level picnic. We hope you enjoyed making memories with your first grader and visiting with other families.
As temperatures cool down, the "just in case" clothes in your child's backpack may need to be updated to something warmer.
First graders go to recess at 10:10 each morning. There are many days in which we have not reached the high temperature by our recess time. Jackets may be needed each day during recess time. Remember to label them with your child's name.
Read homework books nightly
Record minutes spent reading on the Read Across Texas recording sheet
Math homework is due each Friday
Return library books each Thursday
Send a fully charged iPad to school each day
Send a healthy snack to school each day
Place "just in case" clothing in your child's backpack
If you plan to attend school events such as class parties, family picnics, awards, grade level programs and more during the school year, you will need to complete a GCISD Volunteer Background Check. GCISD Volunteer Background Check
