The first grade team is excited to announce that plans for our big field trip are underway! First graders will be going on a field trip to the Dallas World Aquarium on Wednesday, March 27. Each classroom will need several chaperones so we wanted to let you know in advance so you are able to plan accordingly. All chaperones will need to complete a GCISD Volunteer Background Check.
The first grade winter party will be held on Wednesday, December 6th at 2:10pm (each grade level will celebrate on a different afternoon during the month of December). We will share more information as the date is closer. If you plan on attending, GCISD Volunteer Background Checks will be required.
The first grade team is planning a bit of holiday fun for our fantastic first graders. We need help from our first grade families to ensure success. We are requesting that each family purchase small, non-edible trinkets from the dollar section at Target, Dollar Tree, Party City, party section at Walmart or Target, etc. for the number of children in your child's homeroom class. Trinket examples include pencils, pens, erasers, bouncy balls or other small toy-type prizes. Each student will share the trinkets with his or her classmates, so each student will come home with an assortment of special gifts from his or her classmates. Please send your child's items to school by Tuesday, December 5. Please contact your child's teacher with any questions.
Number of trinkets to purchase:
Ackels- 13
Carrasco- 14
Hernandez- 12
Hisel- 13
