September 3-6, students will participate in their first Neptune Navigate lesson in the Learning Commons. These engaging digital citizenship lessons are designed to empower students to make informed and responsible choices in the digital world.
Our first lesson is titled "Digital World Basics."
To reinforce learning at home, here are some thoughtful follow-up questions you can discuss with your child this week:
Lower Elementary
What are some important rules about passwords? Let's practice making a strong password together.
Do you understand why you shouldn't have a social media account before you are 13 years old? Let's discuss that.
Do you personally know everyone you play games with online? Has anyone ever tried to connect with you online that you did not know?
Do you feel safe coming to me with anything you see that might be inappropriate? Why or why not?
Upper Elementary
Do you understand why there is an age requirement for social media accounts? What are some ways this can protect you?
What are the steps in creating a strong password? Do you have any passwords that are easy to guess? Do you use the same password for all your accounts? Have you shared you passwords with me?
Have you ever been approached by a stranger online? What did you do? would you do anything different now that you know the dangers?
