ESL Integrated Physics and Chemistry

Prerequisite: Participation in ESL Programs; Rated Beginning or Intermediate on TELPAS or on LAS Links, and/or are newcomers to US schools. Students who choose this course must take it before earning credit in Chemistry or Physics.

The ESL section of this course is delivered using Sheltered English strategies and is limited in enrollment to students being served in the ESL program and/are: rated beginning or intermediate on TELPAS or on LAS Links and/or are newcomers to US schools.

In Integrated Physics and Chemistry, students conduct laboratory and field investigations, use scientific methods during investigation, and make informed decisions using critical thinking and scientific problem solving. This course integrates the disciplines of physics and chemistry in the following topics: force, motion, energy, and matter.
