Background
On December 13, 2024, the Ateneo de Naga University Grade School held "Choose Kindness: Playing with Heart" for Grade 2 pupils at the Fr. Joel E. Tabora Hall. The program aimed to instill respect, empathy, and positive behavior through play, discouraging violence. Psychology students facilitated the event, applying their expertise in child development. This initiative strengthened interdisciplinary collaboration, benefiting both pupils' emotional well-being and students' practical experience in mental health awareness.

Impact
The “Choose Kindness: Playing with Heart” program made a meaningful impact by promoting empathy, respect, and nonviolent behavior among Grade 2 pupils through engaging, play-based activities. It provided a safe and joyful space for children to express themselves while learning positive social values. For the Psychology students, the initiative offered valuable hands-on experience in applying psychological principles related to child development and behavior. The collaboration between the Grade School and the Psychology Department not only supported the pupils’ emotional growth but also strengthened the University’s commitment to holistic education and mental health advocacy.
