DIRECTORS

KARIE GREEN – CANTABILE AND CONBRIO GIRL CHOIRS

Ms. Green holds a Bachelor of Music Education Degree with voice emphasis from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. After several years of teaching high school vocal music, she joined the Green Bay Boy Choir and Girl Choir staff in 1990. Ms. Green served as accompanist for the boys training choirs through 1997 and then became the boy choir Associate Director until 2003. After a two year leave, Ms. Green returned as Associate Director of the Green Bay Girl Choir. She assumed the role of Artistic Director of the Green Bay Girl Choir in 2008 and currently directs the Cantabile and Con Brio choirs.

For the past 20 years, Ms. Green has worked on the team that presents the Pulaski High School annual musical. Productions have included Fiddler on the Roof, Wonderful Town, Hello Dolly, and 42nd Street. Ms. Green also has lead a children’s worship time and choir at First United Methodist Church, Green Bay. At Green Bay East High School, she was prominent in developing the Music & Drama Parent Organization and served as its co-chairperson from 2005-2012. In August 2009, Ms. Green joined art and music educators,administrators and parents of the Green Bay School District to form E-QUATE: East Quadrant Universal Arts Team. Their mission is to support the music and arts programs of all of the east quadrant.

HERBERT BERENDSEN – JOLIET BOY CHOIR

Herb Berendsen joins the Green Bay Boy Choir team as its new Director of the Joliet, changed voice choir. Mr. Berendsen comes to the Boy Choir from 18 years as the Choral Director at Oshkosh West High School where he conducted men’s and women’s choirs as well as mixed choirs, vocal jazz and barbershop ensembles as well as the Annual musical theater production. Prior to his time at Oshkosh West High School Mr Berendsen was the choral director at Ripon High School. Herb is an active member of the Wisconsin Choral Director’s Association where he chairs the Next Direction Conference for students interested in pursuing careers in vocal music. He is also a member of the National Association of Music Educators. He is a graduate from Wheaton College where he earned his Bachelor in Music Education and then went on to pursue his Masters of Music from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mr. Berendsen also conducts the MacDowell Male Chorus of Appleton and is a private vocal instructor as well as active in his church’s music ministry. Welcome Mr. Berendsen!

JUSTINE SKOG - NICOLET BOY CHOIR

Justine Skog is the new director of the Nicolet Choir for the Green Bay Boy Choir. Mrs. Skog is currently the Director of Choral Activities at Edison Middle School in Green Bay and serves as the Music Department Chairperson. She is a member of the Edison Leadership Team and the Edison Summer School Coordinator. She also directs the Show Choir and School Musical at Edison. Justine received her Bachelor of Music Education from St. Norbert College in DePere and her Masters of Educational Leadership and Curriculum Development from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee. Welcome Mrs. Skog!

ELIZABETH CHAVEZ- MARQUETTE BOY CHOIR

Mrs. Chavez joined the Green Bay Boy Choir Staff in 2012 after serving as a camp clinician. Mrs. Chavez is an elementary school music teacher in the Green Bay Area Public Schools and has served as a clinician with both the Green Bay Boy Choir and Girl Choir.In addition she has traveled with the Boy Choir to Vienna, Salzburg and Prague where she served as Associate Director of the Nicolet and Joliet Choirs. Her passion for music education and her students is evident in all she does! Mrs. Chavez graduated from University of Wisconsin -Green Bay, Wisconsin, where she earned her Bachelors Degree in music with emphasis in general music and choral music education.

ERIN LEGRAVE- PRELUDIO AND ARIETTA GIRL CHOIRS

Mrs. LeGrave joined the Girl Choir as Associate Director in 2014. She is a Music Educator in the Green Bay Area Elementary Schools. She has previously held the position as Choral Director at Pulaski High School in Pulaski WI. She is a recent graduate of UW-Green Bay in Music Education.

ACCOMPANISTS

Emily Sculliuffo— From the age of 14, Ms. Sculliuffo has accompanied a multitude of soloists and ensembles including the College of St. Catherine (St. Paul, MN) Women’s Choir, St. Norbert College’s Chamber Choir, Music Theatre, Knight Theatre, the Calvary Lutheran Senior and Children’s Choirs and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Choir. Emily began working with the Green Bay Girl Choir in 2006 and has performed with the choir in Australia, New Zealand,Cleveland,Denver and Vancouver. She is a 2007 graduate of St. Norbert College with a degree in piano accompaniment.

Susan Romey–Susan Romey’s love for accompanying began while playing piano for high school choir concerts. She studied Piano Pedagogy at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota and has been teaching piano and accompanying for churches, weddings, solo/ensemble,etc. since 1990.She currently teaches piano i the Green Bay School District,teaches private piano students, is an office manager at The Bridge Recording Studio, and is a member of the N.E.W. Piano Teachers Forum. This is Susan’s fifth season as accompanist for the Green Bay Boy Choir.

Pamela Heiser – Pam is enjoying her eleventh season with the Green Bay Boy Choir and Girl Choir. She has accompanied and toured with each of the choirs and currently plays for Marquette. Her three children have also been a part of the choir family. Pam earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Wisconsin--Eau Claire and a Master of Music Education from the University of Illinois. She taught elementary and middle school general and choral music for fifteen years starting in Berlin, WI, and then in Danville, IL. Pam now works as a freelance teacher and accompanist in five local school districts, at UWGB, and Faith Lutheran Church in Allouez. She also recently served as vocal director for West De Pere High School's summer musical.
