Student Collaboration

Commonly Used Student Collaboration Tech Tools

This month’s focus aims to encourage peer interactions through technology tools. Teachers foster independent and collaborative learning in group settings.

An example of this in the elementary classroom could be during station rotations, the teacher designing an activity where students collaborate with their peers to generate a demonstration of learning like a shared graphic organizer.

Did you know some commonly used tech tools that support student collaboration are Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Jamboard? Take a look at Flip and Padlet below...

EXTRA! EXTRA!

Have you heard the news that Flipgrid is now Flip?

If you haven't tried Flip (or used Flipgrid in the past) check this Educator Toolkit out on their site. There is a Step-by-Step Guide that is available for download. Flip is a great tool for gaining experience in recording and hearing oneself speak - with the iOS app, Flip works well with the iPads that our littles are on.

Flip is an excellent Feedback tool in which the teacher can use in the classroom that allows students to collaborate throughout the classroom and building. Teachers may also moderate comments to maintain a safe learning environment.

New Tech!?!

Are you familiar with Padlet?

Take the Padlet tour to view the numerous benefits of using Padlet such as guided student collaborative activities that can be used in any class. Padlet has the unique feature of supporting many file uploads. Explore other ideas on how you might use Padlet here.
