i3 Monthly Update
Formative Assessment
Commonly Used Formative Assessment Tech Tools
This month’s focus is to help teachers reflect on the practice of collecting data. This helps provide feedback and accommodate to learner needs.
Did you know that you are probably already using formative assessment tech tools in the classroom? PearDeck, Nearpod, and ClassKick are just some to name a few. (FYI: PearDeck and Nearpod premium versions are provided by the district. ClassKick's premium version is not.)
EXTRA! EXTRA!
Have you heard the news that the Garland ISD has upgraded all teacher Nearpod accounts to the premium plus level? Sign into Nearpod using your @garlandisd.net email address and discover the many features that are now available for you to use!
If you are new to Nearpod, Digital Learning has a pathway course that will help you (plus, you'll get CPE credit and a digital badge 😀 ). Click on the image to enroll.
New Tech!?!
Are you familiar with Goose Chase?
Check out the video. This app provides a way that allows participants to participate in scavenger hunts. But did you know that these can also be applied to formative assessments?
Have them ‘scavenger hunt’ through their brain or notes for answers to on-topic, content-based questions!
You are already doing so much! You have grown in using technology in the classroom over the past several years. Are you sharing your successes? Tweet your triumphs! Share with me: @dghtymusicrocks, with the school: @DES_Hornets, and with the Digital Learning Team: @DigitalGISD.
Want to be caught being techy? Email me! I'd love to come by your classroom, take some pics, and share your successes!
