i3 Monthly Update
Digital Pedagogy - #DLDay2023
Digital Pedagogy in the Garland ISD
This month’s focus on “Digital Pedagogy” explores the teacher's ability to inspire and cultivate student innovation to address real-world challenges.
In elementary schools, this could include learning experiences in which students collect, organize, and interpret data using digital tools like Google Forms and Sheets to explore possible solutions to current problems.
TPACK
Technology integration in the classroom should include content, pedagogical, and technical knowledge to be successful.
Check out the video on the left to learn more about this integration.
EduProtocols
Add proven protocols to your instruction. The paragraphs below are from the Ditch the Textbook site.
What are EduProtocols?
EduProtocols are a set of strategies you can use to simplify planning and get results. They're simple activities you can use over and over again, adjusting for new content. They have fun names, like Fast and the Curious, Cyber Sandwich, and Booka Kucha. Call them "lesson frames," like picture frames. You can change the content (the picture) inside a picture frame, but the frame always stays the same.
They are not a product you purchase. Once you start using these activity ideas, they are a way of life! You can find lots of examples at EduProtocols.com.
Created originally by Jon Corippo and Marlena Hebern, the EduProtocols community has expanded vast and wide to ensure all subject areas and all grade levels benefit from their use. EduProtocols are open pedagogy that work with any content area or curriculum.

#DLDay is 23 February 2023!
Digital Learning Day was created when many "were uncertain about the role digital learning could play in their classrooms." The inaugural #DLDay was in 2012 by All4Ed. Think about how your classroom can participate in #DLDay this year!
Look at this video of Digital Learning Day in Garland ISD from 2019:
