Digital Pedagogy & Problem Solving
Commonly Used Digital Pedagogy & Problem Solving Tech Tools
This month’s focus on “Digital Pedagogy & Problem Solving” is exploring the teacher's ability to inspire and cultivate student innovation to address real world challenges. In elementary school, the teachers could facilitate learning experiences in which students collect, organize, and interpret data using digital tools like Google Forms and Sheets to explore possible real world solutions.
Applied Digital Skills Showcase?!?
Did you know that Google has curated a resource of different lessons with the goal of "teach[ing] and learn[ing] practical digital skills needed for the jobs of today and tomorrow"? While many of the lessons are geared towards upper elementary to high school, a bit of adaptation can help them to be accessible for younger students.
Some examples:
If/then - choose your own adventure stories with Google Forms.
Creating Battleship Game - Google Sheets
Creating a Photo Journal - could become a shape journal or color journal...
Forms and Sheets webinars...
Over the past few years, Garland ISD teachers have created some great webinars for learning about Google Forms and Google Sheets. Try out some of these to expand your digital toolbox.
