Re-2 Gear Library

Garfield County Outdoors, in partnership with the Re-2 School District, is in the process the establishing an outdoor gear lending library in order to support outdoor education and to provide community organizations serving youth and families in Western Garfield County access to high-quality outdoor gear. The gear library will have the capacity to serve 30 youth at a time to start with gear for camping trips, backpacking adventures, or hiking trips to the surrounding natural areas. In the longer term, our goal is to further develop that capacity to serve larger groups as well as develop the resources to access more technical outdoor adventure sports on the water and snow. The gear will be housed in the district at a central location and will be managed by Garfield County Outdoors.

We currently have a small amount of gear available for school district staff to use and will be expanding our gear resources throughout the school year. Our current inventory list can be found HERE.

Have some gently used gear you'd like to donate? As we begin to build our Outdoor Gear Library, we are looking for clean, gently used, outdoor recreation gear! While we are interested in any serviceable outdoor gear, below is a more specific list of items we are looking for to be able to support school groups on camping trips this spring. Thanks so much for your generosity!
