This is the learning strand for 2019/2020. This year has been a hectic year for our strand, however we've still managed to accomplish most of our goals. A significant portion of Term 1 was spent deciding on a learning menu (as seen on the right) and training our team to carry out Evidence Informed Conversations. Our main aim was to provide useful information to teachers we work with to give them more insight on how their students are feeling.
This year, we've also decided to make a new learning menu, integrating the GIS learning statements into the menu while making it more concise and focused.
Term 2: Learning Walk
This half term has kicked off to an amazing start! Although the Y12 student leaders had Mock exams and work experience, we still managed to remain focus on our goals. An interesting proposal was given to us by some members of the Senior Leadership Team who were seeking input on learning spaces around our school. Over the course of the week, we worked with Primary Student Leaders and toured parts of the Primary building and Secondary building. We ended our eventful few days with a taped conversation reflecting on the different spaces we saw and the potential improvements that could be made. Special shoutout to Ms Pendred for accompanying us on our tours and helping to document this whole process!
Attached here is the Menu we have been working on that aims to help our Secondary Staff have a unique understanding of learning in classrooms!
Having bonded closely as a strand, the Y12 student leaders supported Thanya in full swing as she stunned the crowd as Velma in the school production of Hairspray! Congratulations again Thanya and to everyone else involved
Term 1 Projects
Hello! This is Muhammad, the Learning Strand's Director, and here is a brief overview of what our team has been up to over the course of the term. We have mainly been working on Evidence Informed Conservations under the guidance of Mr Graizevsky and plan to implement this project next term. This initiative has played an integral role to our strand as it has been running for a number of years now. Not only have we made amendments to the process, we have also changed our method of observation to more evidence-based, hoping this will provide more useful and insightful information to our lovely Secondary Staff.
