Richard Paul Erdmann

My name is Richard Erdmann and I am an elementary school principal working in the York Region District School board. I have been an school administrator for the past 18 years. I have worked in the education field for the past 30 years. I am currently the proud principal of Alexander Muir Public School in Newmarket, Ontario.

Alexander Muir P.S. is a diverse school, with a student population of over 617 students & 58 staff members. The school is located in Newmarket, Ontario and is a part of the York Region District School Board.

My current leadership focus areas for 2017-2018 include:

• Fostering a positive growth mindset in staff & students to reach their full potential daily;
• Supporting staff in finding innovative ways to integrate Modern Learning approaches to support student learning and success;
• Modelling innovative approaches to professional learning, content delivery & communication through the use of various digital tools;
• Empowering & providing staff with opportunities to participate and lead a variety of school based initiatives and SIPSA school focus areas;
• Mentoring other YRDSB administrators through professional learning opportunities, Speaker Series sessions & formal/informal coaching/sharing to support effective use of time and in their roles as leaders in our system;
• Enhancing my professional learning community through effective use of a variety of social media platforms within and beyond the YRDSB.
