Equipment/space:
tennis court or open space and put a string as a net
Racket, tennis balls (6 or more ideally), large bouncy ball, targets such as teddies, cones, balls

Type: Cooperative.
Focus: Sending and Receiving in different direction.
Set up: Parent/Sibling/friend, with one big ball.
Feeder stands 8-10 feet from "lobster" who has a racquet on each hand.
Instructions: Catch ball between both racquets after bounce.
Feeder tosses ball, lobster traps it between racquets after bounce.
Lobster sets ball on ground with racquets and rolls it back to feeder.
Goal: Trap ball between racquets after bounce while moving.
Progressions:
using hands to catch and toss back to feeder.
using racquets to catch and toss back to feeder.
Instructions: Balance ball on strings after bounce
With palm up, place ball in centre of strings.
Tilt racquet to side so ball falls out.
Catch ball on strings after bounce
Reposition ball in the centre, using free hand if necessary.
with hand at the bottom of grip, keep racquet steady and balance ball on strings.
Goal: With Hand bottom of grip, keep racquet steady, and balance ball on strings.
Progression:
Drop Catch ball with hand
Hold ball on strings for less and less time.
Balance ball, knuckles up.
Drop catch ball, zig zag movement
Practice ball control and tap and hit the ball and catch.
Progress to just tap and hit
Try to do one tap and bounce - pointing strings up and get height on the ball to give more time
Can do this with a large bouncy ball to make easier
Try to do it with the BH grip (check technical Overview if needed)
Start side on with racket back - drop ball in front (ensure feeder faces hitter)
hit ball in front and follow through
Stand closer to net to make it easier or stand further back
Progression 1- starting in ready ready position and drop hit
Progression 2 - throw from standing in front (side on stance or ready position)
Put targets out for hitter to try and hit - could be teddies, cones, balls etc. Targets are in the service box around the service line depending on ability.
Start moving hitter as they progress
Type: Hand-Feed
Focus: Directing backhand off of hand-feed.
Setup
Player is on the other side of court, all about four feet from net.
Feeder on one side of net, off to sides with bucket of balls; hitters on other.
Create a large target in middle of opposite service box using hula-hoop, cones, etc.
Goal 1: Hit ball over net to target from hand-feed.
Toss is to backhand. Hit over net into opposite service box aiming for target.
After six attempts switch sides.
Create a scoring system that rewards getting ball over net, with most points for hitting target.
Goal 2: Simple take-back and follow-through.
Progressions
1. Alternate hitting straight ahead and crosscourt.
2. Make hitter move to ball and recover.
Type: Running / Tag
Focus: Running on the line and imaginary line
Goal: Try not to get tag to win
