Meerkats

Meerkats (Suricata suricatta) are a highly social species that are diurnal. They live in large social groups with sentinals that look out for potential danger whilst other individuals are foraging. Meerkats are an omnivorous species that would naturally consume a wide range of food items including beetles, caterpillars, spiders, scorpions, small reptiles, birds, eggs, plants and fruit.
