The Carbon, Schuylkill, Luzerne, Wayne, and Pike STEM Ecosystem is a one of over 94 designated STEM Ecosystems in the US, Canada, Mexico and Kenya. The STEM Learning Ecosystem initiative empowers communities to bring together local partners to create systemic change to ensure under served and underrepresented students develop STEM knowledge and skills they need to learn and thrive in today's world.





Summer STEM Camp for Educators

The CSL WP STEM Ecosystem is proud to offer educators from school across the Carbon, Schuylkill, Luzerne, Wayne, and Pike Counties the opportunity to attend a full week of STEM-based professional development provided by both the Luzerne and Carbon-Lehigh Intermediate Units. Educators that attend all five days will receive a $500 stipend for their time and travel and a total of 30 Act 48 hours.

The Luzerne Intermediate Unit will hold its STEM summer camp for educators June 20, 2022 to June 24, 2022 at the Lighthouse Academy located at 1001 PA-315, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.

The Carbon-Lehigh Intermediate Unit will hold its STEM summer camp for educators August 1, 2022 to August 5, 2022 at the Lehigh Carbon Community College Morgan Center at 234 High St, Tamaqua, PA 18252.

Tentative Schedule of STEM Camp Events

Day 1: Sphero Bolt and LEGO Spike Prime

Day 2: Humming Bird Bit and Basic Electronics/Snap Circuits

Day 3: LittleBits and Bricklabs/Strawbees

Day 4: Keva/Bridge Builder Kits and Straw Rocket Launchers

Day 5: Stations for Sphero Bolt, LEGO Spike Prime, Humming Bird Bit, Snap

Circuits, LittleBits, and Strawbees

Each day will run from 8:30AM to 3:00PM with a 1/2 hour lunch provided.

Remake Learning Days Across America is an innovative learning festival for families and youth! Taking root in 17 regions across the nation, these 1,000 hands-on and engaging events are designed for kids of all ages at libraries, schools, tech centers, museums, play spaces, community centers, and more.
