Hi! I’m Sabaree, originally from India and currently a 4th year PhD student in College of Life Science and Medicine at National Tsing Hua University. English has been a big part of my academic and personal life. I’ve taught English in Taiwan and regularly use it. So, I think I’ve become quite comfortable with this language. I also served as the President of the Foreign Student Association (FSA) at NTHU for two consecutive years, which involved communicating with students from different countries, working with university offices, organizing events, solving unexpected problems, and, most importantly, sending a truly unreasonable number of messages and emails in English. It was probably the best practical training for communication, and for discovering that “quick meeting” is rarely actually quick. Besides, I love wasting my time on PS4 gaming, snorkeling with 50% swimming skill, and reading boring science books from our library. Overall, I enjoy meeting people from different countries and backgrounds, and I believe language is one of the best ways to understand people beyond textbooks and classrooms.
