Gantt Guided Tours

Experience an in depth 45 to 60-minute guided tour of our facility and our current exhibitions. Guests can also experience a deeper connection with the exhibits by completing a scavenger hunt.

Guests will experience a 45-minute guided tour of one of our current exhibitions along with a 45-minute make and take workshop creating art in the style of noted artist:

• Kara Walker
• Jean-Michel Basquiat
• Augusta Savage
• Gordon Parks

Guests will experience a 45-minute guided tour of our current exhibitions followed by an art talk with regional artists and or art professionals. This tour option must be scheduled at least one month in advance.

Experience an abbreviated guided tour of one of our exhibitions. Following the tour children will be treated to interactive storytelling related to African-American Arts + Culture and an art related coloring activity.

Guests will be led on a guided tour of one exhibition and then experience a 45-minute workshop centered around creating a personal vision. Led by a museum educator or teaching artist students will complete a goal setting exercise and use the information gained to create a self-portrait.

Guests will take a journey into the world of our exhibits and create a narrative for a piece of their choice. This workshop can also be expanded to include performances of the guests’ written works.
