OBJECTIVE & SCOPE
Game designers are key members of the team that orchestrates the complex task of creating a new video game. Game designers are responsible for designing characters, levels, puzzles, art and animation. A game designer may also be responsible for project management tasks or may be asked to write code using various computer programming languages. Game design has also been instrumental in research-based fields such as probability, artificial intelligence, economics, and optimization theory.
Students will be introduced to game fundamentals and game design concepts, emphasizing the basic tools & skills of game design: paper and digital prototyping, design iteration, and user testing.
For the course project, students will create digital game. This course leverages node base game engine that uses a visual programming language to allow new game designers to create games.

COURSE COVERAGE
Students will build complete computer game projects by applying knowledge and skills including: using the 2D game editor to develop a game, understanding the game asset pipeline, designing effective game levels, visual programming, Building and deploying games. In the final Project, you’ll build an original game while interacting with a supportive community of students and gamers.
