You can get your most current schedule by using the Alief Home Access Center (HAC)
If you are a student and you don't know your password or need help signing in to the HAC, these instructions can help you
Parents can find more info about the HAC here.
There are 2 main ways to sign in to Schoology. Try one of the other options if you're having trouble.
First sign in to the HUB (hub.aliefisd.net) and click the Schoology icon.
Go to alief.schoology.com
In this option, you have to enter your username slightly differently
Instead of just using [your ID number], you need to type "district\[your ID number]"
Make sure you use the correct \
It is NOT the one on the same key as the question mark
This is really the same as option 2, but there is a link to alief.schoology.com on the Quick Links section of the Alief webpage
Either option you choose, you will need to know your student ID number as well as the password your normally would use to sign in to a computer at school
First make sure you are using the correct Google account.
Alief student Google accounts look like this: 123456@ga.aliefisd.net
Make sure you're using your ID number and don't forget the "ga." part
Your password is probably not the same as the one you used to sign on the Schoology unless you were the one who changed it to that
The default password for new accounts is your birthday using the following format
MMDDYYYY (make sure it has 8 numbers)
So a birthday of April 23, 2007 would be 04232007
If you tried all that and still don't know your password, email Mr. Duncan (reduncan@ga.aliefisd.net) with your ID number
First check the Home Access Center to make sure the class is really missing
Schoology make schedule changes overnight. So sometimes waiting a day will fix missing Schoology classes.
Email your counselor to let them know about the problem
If you don't know how to contact a counselor, let one of your teachers know about the problem.
There are a couple of possible problems that could cause this, so I will try to list a few.
If you are on a phone or tablet (and maybe a Chromebook too)
You may need to install the Zoom app in order to click on a Zoom link and join in
If you don't have a Zoom account
Create a free one by signing in with your Google account
Are you too early/late?
If the Zoom meeting hasn't started yet or is already over, you can click the link but you won't be able to connect
If the link isn't clickable in Schoology
Some teachers have their course materials set up so that you can't get to the Zoom meeting until you complete the activity that comes before it
Mr. Graf, a teacher at Best Elementary made some great videos to get you started
First steps to setup your Chromebook and Hotspot (en español aquí)
In the video, Mr. Graf mentions a paper that has your login information that you probably didn't get.
Every Alief Student has a google account that looks like: 123456@ga.aliefisd.net [use your ID number instead of 123456]
If you don't know your Google account password, ask your teacher to help
Install extensions to make the HUB work even better on your Chromebook (en español aquí)
I know :(
That's how Schoology works and right now we can't change it
Some teachers have changed their course icon to the correct period, which helps.
Your best bet is to find your Schedule from the Home Access Center and use that to know which class to go to next
Navigating Zoom (& Other Video Conferencing Tools) with your child
Assure your child is prepared a few minutes ahead of time & has needed materials (supplies, charged device, charger, connected to the internet...).
Be mindful about family activities that can be seen/heard during the video conference. Use an appropriate virtual background if needed.
Minimize distracting materials, backgrounds, & noise as much as possible so your child can concentrate on their work.
Have your child dress appropriately (watch Albright's Beginning of Year video).
Remind your child that the lessons are recorded for other students that missed it so they need to be on their best behavior as if they were in the classroom.
Monitor your child, but let them struggle with the work. Struggling is part of learning.
If they have a question about an assignment, they can reach out to their teachers via Schoology or email.
The fastest way to get help is to contact a teacher or other staff member through Schoology or email.
Because of COVID-19, we aren't able to have as many people answering phones as we normally would at the start of the year.
You can also post your question to the Albright campus course in Schoology. Many staff members are looking there to see what problems we can fix.
Be on the look-out for emails and Schoology posts that may offer help for your specific problem. We are doing our best to get all this information out to people who need it.
