Sebastião Feyo de Azevedo was born in Porto, Portugal, on June 1st, 1951. He graduated in Chemical Engineering at the University of Porto in 1973, and obtained his Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wales (Swansea), 1982. Since 1996, he holds the qualification title of 'Agregado' (habilitation) from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto, where he is, since February 1998, Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering. His areas of interest, both in research and teaching, are in Process Systems Engineering, Instrumentation and Control. His other specific interest is in Higher Education - the Bologna Process and Higher Education with special emphasis in Chemical Engineering Curricula and Education. His research activity is currently carried out within LEPABE - Laboratory for Process, Environmental and Energy Engineering, Research Unit of the Faculty of Engineering. He is a member of several scientific, professional and civic associations.
