Paulo Calçada

Paulo Calçada is the Head Advisor of Porto’s City Council Innovation unit and CEO of Porto Digital. He's an entrepreneur working on innovative technologies related with communication, collaborative work and IT platforms, and an evangelist of Open Standards. He has been working on project and executive management and IT platforms for the past 15 years. He has also been an invited specialist in several working groups both at the national and European level. He is active on Cloud Computing standardization international efforts (ISO/IEC JTC1 SC38; Portuguese Quality Institute Technical Committee TC128). His passion for sharing his experience has led him to participate and organize several conferences, focusing on subjects such as Open Standards, Cloud Computing, and entrepreneurship. He is also one of the founders of the European Association for Cloud Computing (EuroCloud), which is nowadays present in more than 22 countries. Paulo Calçada is also leading the innovation and entrepreneurship strategy in the city of Porto, in partnership with several European cities.
