Fernando Manuel Gomes Remião is the current Pro-Rector for Educational Innovation and Sport at the University of Porto (U.Porto). Since July 2014 he is also the Head of the U.Porto Unit for the Improvement of Teaching and Learning. Fernando Remião is an Associate Professor with aggregation of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto (FFUP) and a Member of its Scientific Council. He graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences by FFUP in 1993, and obtained his PhD in Toxicology in 2002 also from FFUP, after a brief period of research in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Toxicology, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Southern California (USA). In July 2015, he obtained his aggregation in Toxicology. He is currently the main Professor of the "Mechanistic Toxicology" Course Unit in the "Master Programme of Pharmaceutical Sciences", and of other related subjects in the "Master Programme in Analytical, Clinical and Forensic Toxicology" of FFUP (belonging to its Scientific Committee) and in the "Master and PhD Programs in Forensic Science" of U.Porto. Fernando Remião is also a Senior Researcher in the Toxicology Group of the Applied Molecular Biosciences Research Unit (UCIBIO, REQUIMTE), and is currently (co)supervising 4 PhD Students and 1 MsC student. He is the author/co-author of more than 100 papers published in international journals, successfully (co)supervised 6 PhD students and 7 MsC students, and led two projects funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT/Portugal).
