I am a PhD Candidate in the department of Communication at UCLA. In the Fall of 2026, I will begin as an Assistant Professor of Journalism at the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communication. My research focuses on the ways in which affect and identity influence media selection and political behaviors. For instance, I have most recently been interested in the ways psychophysiological responses to content drive media selection, and in particular the ways in which these responses may be a mechanism driving news avoidance. My work relies on a combination of physiological lab experiments, in-person interviews, and survey data.
