Mia Carbone

I am a PhD Candidate at UCLA. My research focuses on the ways in which affect, emotion, and identity influence media selection. For instance, I have most recently been interested in the ways psychophysiological responses to content drive media selection, and in particular the ways in which these responses may be a mechanism driving news avoidance. My work relies on a combination of physiological lab experiments, in-person interviews, and survey data.
