lo is an interdisciplinary artist whose experiments generate intuitive research into personal-risk performance-making. Solo actions integrate spontaneous utterance, impulse-based scores, object manipulation, unexpected humour, and inter-relational proposals with audience. lo also works in movement-driven ensemble improvisation and sees her facilitations and invitations to collective scores are a form of embodied poetry.
lo won a Kathy Acker Award in 2019 and the Summerworks FADO Live Art Award in 2015 and has performed at: SPAR²C.ca (Shifting Praxis in Artistic Research / Research- Creation), 7a*11d, Duration & Dialogue, Rhubarb Performance Festival, Harbourfront Centre, Out of Site-Chicago, SummerWorks Performance Festival and her video work shown as part of Luminato Festival online (2020). lo has presented academic papers as material to be deconstructed at conferences in: Chicago (Out of Site and Northwestern University), Mexico (Hemispheric Institute’s Encuentro), Amsterdam (Performance Philosophy), Halifax (Dalhousie), Kingston (Canadian Theatre Research), Montreal (School of Making Thinking), and Toronto (Sick Theories Conference and Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas).
