Hello! My name is Emma (she/her) and I'm a PhD Candidate in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at UCLA. I currently live and work on the unceded territory of the Gabrielino/Tongva people. I study and teach about participatory and collaborative climate planning and policymaking processes. My work explores how local climate mitigation and adaptation decisions are made, including how tradeoffs are understood by different actors, how competing priorities are reconciled on the ground, and how well-intentioned plans and policies can maintain and exacerbate existing injustices.
