Nanoparticle Engineering Lab (NEL) at Seoul National University of Science and Technology focuses on studying the behaviors of micro and nanometer-scale particles in fluid. The research fields in NEL include particle calibration, control, filtration, generation, measurement, and particle-laden flow modeling. The research programs of NEL are broadly divided into the following areas:
Semiconductor/Display:
Research focuses on characterizing the CMP slurry, reducing the micro contamination, fabricating the three-dimensional nanostructure, and developing the cleaning technology.
Home Appliances:
Research focuses on optimizing and evaluating the air purifiers, HVAC system, vacuum cleaners, and water dispensers.
Basic Particle Research:
Research focuses on developing the particle detection method, investigating the particle-laden flow, and characterizing the e-cigarette aerosol.
Air/Liquid/VOC filtration:
Research has collaborated with the international consortium, Center for Filtration Research (CFR), consisting of 20+ international companies and institutes.
Passive cooling system:
Research focuses on developing a sustainable heat-dissipating system with zero electricity consumption.
