TRYOUT INFORMATION:
Students must fill out an interest form and attend a meeting
Send all current teachers a survey that consists of behavior and academic rating questions
Provide two character references from a current teacher or coach of their choice
Read an excerpt of the ROTC Infantry Manual published in 1942 listing 45 qualities a true leader must possess
Record a 1-minute video displaying your school spirit
If all of the above items are completed by the required date then each student will be placed on the ballot
Bell Boys are elected by a point system from their teacher surveys and student voting
Bell Boys are held to UIL academic guidelines
Practices are held as needed

TRYOUT INFORMATION:
Required to attend tryout meeting and complete an application
Not required, but highly recommended, to attend the tryout clinics the week of tryouts
Tryouts are in front of outside NCA judges on Thursday of the tryout week
Students must have passed all 1st semester UIL eligible classes to be eligible to tryout. Report will be turned in for verification.
Cheer follows all UIL academic guidelines, so students must be passing to participate
Practices are during 3rd & 4th period and some after school practices
Students on the team must take the cheer class periods. They will also get a ½ credit for PE.

Students must attend an informational meeting and submit an online application
Tryouts occur over four days and are judged by non-LHHS volunteers familiar with this form of dance
Currently, there is no prerequisite class
Folklorico is a UIL Program and is held to UIL Eligibility Guidelines
Some off campus performance my require members provide their own transportation to and from the event
Students must have room in their schedule to take the 1st period Folklorico class
Members are expected to attend practices Monday & Thursday after school

TRYOUT INFORMATION:
Students must attend a mandatory tryout meeting with a parent/guardian
An application must be completed
Tryout workshops are Monday-Wednesday, with the tryouts on Thursday after school
Drill team prep is a recommended (but not mandatory) course
Tryouts are based on scores from the three judges
Once you are member on the team you must be passing
The Highlandettes are held to the UIL Eligibility Guidelines
Students will be required to provide their own transportation for early morning practices and other weekend or off-site events at times
Practices are held in the morning from 7:15 into 1st period with some after school practices in the spring
If you are selected as a (new) Highlandette, you must be able to take the Rookie class (3rd period) in the spring
Once on the team, you must be able to be enrolled in the 1st period Highlandette class

TRYOUT INFORMATION:
For incoming 11th & 12th grade students
Students must attend a mandatory parent/student informational meeting usually held in mid Spring. At the meeting students will hear about the application process
The following month, students attend a 3-day clinic to learn the tryout routine. The clinic runs for 2 hours after school during the week. The fourth day, students tryout in front of a panel of judges not affiliated with LHHS or the LH community.
It is recommended that sophomores enroll in the 'Country-Western Prep' course. It is not mandatory in order to make the team.
The Wranglers is a UIL program. Students must maintain passing grades in remain eligible to perform once on the team.
Must take the Wrangler class 3rd period, if on the team
Practices occur during 3rd period and occasionally after school as needed.
It is recommended that students are able to provide their own transportation for some off campus events
There is a parent booster club for parents to join if so desired
