How to join?

Students join the Richardson West Junior High Theatre Arts Magnet by application and audition only. Any eligible student in Richardson Independent School District may only apply and audition as a 6th grader.

The application opens in November, and is due December 1st. No exceptions!

Message from the Principal

Welcome and thank you for visiting the Richardson West Junior High Arts and Technology Magnet website. We hope you will find it informative and interesting. West is a junior high school with magnet programs in visual arts, technology, communication arts, robotics, and theatre arts. We are extremely proud of our high-quality programs, our positive school climate, and the academic performance of our students. Our staff is committed to providing the best education possible for all of our students, and we know a strong home/school partnership is vital for ensuring their success. All the staff members at West work together daily to create a safe and supportive environment which encourages every student to work to his or her potential, provide learning experiences that build basic skills, nourish curiosity, teach problem-solving, and kindle a love of learning. We know that through the combined efforts of our excellent teachers and the active involvement of our parents and families, we can create an outstanding educational experience for all students.
