Band Spring Trip to Corpus

The 2020 Corpus Trip will include performances by the Berkner Bands as well as a three-night condominium stay on Mustang Island.

The Berkner Band, Choir and Orchestra will all be traveling together for this trip.

Band students paying into the BABC for the trip will stay with other band students.

Here is the basic information:

Friday: load charter buses, travel and shop at a Corpus grocery store for all meals in condos.

Saturday: performances by bands and orchestras and beach time in the evening!

Sunday: excursions to souvenir shops, beach time, performance by BHS Choir, & a DJ & Dance at FunTrackers on Sunday evening

Monday: travel day home

Students will be back in classes on Tuesday, April 28.

The cost of the trip is $450.00 a student.

Be advised that any money paid towards the Corpus Trip will first be applied to any outstanding band fees before a “trip deposit” is officially registered with the BABC for spring travel.

The cost of the trip divided out over the next five months comes out to $90.00 a month. Students in the Concert Band II must qualify for Concert Band I in the spring in order to be eligible for the trip (unless exempted by head band director). Students in the Midwest trip to Chicago have the option to opt-out of the Corpus Trip. Please refer to page 28 in the Berkner Band 2019-2020 Handbook for more specific information regarding expectations of each student’s participation in their band’s performance in Corpus. This is going to be a GREAT trip… we are very much looking forward to this!
