Important reminders

Enrollment:

If you have received your enrollment packet returned back to you, it is important that you complete the missing article (current proof of residence) and return it as soon as possible. We want to complete your enrollment and secure your child’s spot at FRE for the upcoming year.

Forestridge Gives Back:

It is important for students to think of others. We have an opportunity to fundraise and support a very worthy cause called 47 Nickels. The project is to help the city of Richardson build its first inclusive playground for students with disabilities. The goal is for student raise and donate 47 Nickels or $2.35. To help our students with giving, we are coordinating 3 school spirit days in which students who dress in spirit gear will donate $1. We will collect their dollar at school and put in their giving envelope in their class. The teacher will collect it and turn it in in the office. If a student participates all three days, they will have exceeded the $2.35 giving goal. Participation is optional and students not participating will continue to wear uniform dress on spirit days. Our next dress day will be May 21st. The theme will be announced soon.

Art

We are staring Buddy Fun Day bracelets in yarn, string, plastic lacing and even rubber bands. These weaving and macrame crafts are great exercise for hands and minds that build practical skills and brain cells. They are fun relaxing summer activities. The supplies are cheap at dollar stores or craft stores. Be more creative and recycle household items to make cords to knot or weave. Just plastic bags can be cut into ribbons for weaving.Start planning summer crafts.

We are happy to say that Staar testing is now behind us. We are all waiting patiently for results to come in so we can determine which of our wonderful and hardworking ELLs will get to exit the program.
