ESL Grades 7 & 8
Ms. Watson has been teaching for 10 years, spending over 8 of those years at Forest Meadow. She is passionate about helping her students grow in Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening to facilitate success in all areas of their studies and lives.
Welcome to the '23 - '24 school year at Forest Meadow Junior High!
ESL education focuses on growing English Language Proficiency for our English Language Learners (Emergent Bilinguals). In this class, your students will learn and practice skills and vocabulary for Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening in English.
Our priority at the beginning of the year is to assess your student's English ability in Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening, to best meet their needs. We also spend the first few weeks of school giving our students the vocabulary to get help and advocate for themselves. Finally, we focus on getting to know our students and helping them get to know each other because relationships drive communication, which will boost their growth in English.
