Dash, like BlueBot and Sphero, is a resource for supporting the development of computational thinking. About the size of a soccer ball, Dash is controlled via one of 3 apps: Blockly (coding), Path (draw a path and the robot follows it), and Wonder (various projects for Dash). Blockly is a block-based coding app, similar although easier to use than Scratch. Blockly contains a series of challenges by which students can learn the coding required to control Dash. The lessons are well supported with interactive components, and a grade 2 reader could make good progress.
This activity will help consolidate the knowledge learned through the initial lessons provided in Blockly. My thanks to Laura (Iberville) for sharing this clip!
