Karen Trammell

Coach Trammell coached softball, JV girls basketball, and girl’s golf at SHS. She was the Head Softball Coach 1991 through the 2001 season posting a 221-64 overall record. She won state championships in 1999 and 2001 and was Upper State Champions 1999, 2000, and 2001. Her team was Region 1-AAA champions in 1995, 1997, 1999, 2000, and 2001. She received the High School Sports Report State Coach of the Year in 2001 and the SC Athletic Coaches Association State Coach of the Year in 1999. She was named Region 1-AAA Coach of the Year in 1993, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2000, and 2001. She was the North/South All Star Coach in 1995, and 2000. She coached 36 all region players, 7 region players of the year, 13 North/South All Stars, 14 All State players, 4 All Americans, 2 State Players of the Year, and 2 Gatorade State Players of the Year. The 1999 and 2001 teams were ranked in the top 20 of the final USA Today softball rankings with the 1999 team ranked as high as 2^nd in the nation. The 2000 team was ranked in the top 20 for most of the year. She coached JV girls’ basketball from 1991 to 1999 and her career record was 115-31. She started the girl’s golf program at SHS and coached for three seasons. In 2002 she became a guidance counselor as is currently the Director of Guidance.
