In this standard, students are expected to add and subtraction fractions (or mixed numbers) with unlike denominators. Students should be finding a common denominator in order to add and subtract.
The most difficult part of this standard is subtracting mixed numbers when regrouping is required. Students should think about the size of ONE WHOLE when working on this skill.
