In this standard, students are learning about factor pairs, prime numbers, composite numbers, multiples, and factors.

Factors: the numbers we multiply together to get another number

Factors of 24: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24

Factor pairs: a set of two numbers, which when multiplied result in a specified number

Factor pairs of 24: (1, 24); (2,12); (3,8); (4,6)

Multiples: the result of multiplying a number by an integer

Multiples of 2: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, etc.

Prime number: a number greater than 1 that has only 2 factors (1 and itself)

Examples: 7, 13

Composite number: a number with more than two factors

Examples: 8, 24
