In this standard, students are expected to understand that a number line can also be used to show a fraction. Students will have to evaluate given number lines and create their own number lines.

Important ideas:

1) Students should be counting the intervals/jumps/spaces to determine how many pieces are from 0 to 1 on the number line. This would be the denominator.

2) Students need to be careful when a number line goes from 0 to 2. The denominator represents the number of pieces from 0 to 1.
