Bernie is the lunch supervisor in 4F and almost every child in 4F is fasting for Ramadan. On the second day of Ramadan, Bernie played games with the kids and had prizes for them to win. The prizes were so thoughtful because they were little Rubik's cubes or Playdoh that the kids will definitely be able to play with during lunch for the rest of Ramadan. Bernie is a wonderfully kind and caring lunch supervisor. She went above and beyond to make lunchtime a little less painful for our Muslim students and all our students and staff.

I was able to observe a lesson today by Anna that created opportunities for students to interact with one another, to participate in structured writing prompts, and to show what they know. It was so wonderful to see the students open up and participate. Thank you, Anna!

Gail was nominated for showing a great deal of flexibility in terms of taking on multiple tasks. The past few weeks before break I sprung a lot of "spur of the moment" things on Gail, such as subbing and then taking on 2 groups of remote learners. Judy always goes out of her way to make sure our items arrive when we need them. She follows up with companies if things have not arrived. She speeds up the process if we need something ASAP. She reminds us when there are things in I-Vision that need to be approved (and we have not done so yet). She searches for alternative products if something is out of stock. She finds things at lower prices to save us money, but always makes sure it is OK if she changes our order a bit. She is amazing at what she does and I appreciate her so much.
Letty was recognized for EVERYTHING! This is only Letty's second year as secretary at Dorn, but you would never guess that. She has things totally under control during this very interesting school year! No matter what is thrown at her, she gets it done, even if it means staying until 10:00 PM (yes, seriously). She comes in on most weekends to catch up with things she did not get done during the week. She drives to remote families' houses if they can't pick things up. She is so patient with staff, students and especially parents. Her work ethic is SECOND TO NONE. Dorn would be in big trouble without her. This box to type in is not nearly large enough for me to write about all of Letty's amazing skills and qualities.
