學科簡介及目標

 

本科是新高中各科學相關選修科是入門科目。旨在裝備學生在科學本質、理論及技術應用上的基礎。

•加設校本中一中二STEM 課程

•推行校本活化學習及科學探究式研習

•推廣理科電子學習風氣

•建立理科專業學習社群


本科特色

 

•持續中一, 二級的校本綜合科學科課程發展。

•為新高中理科以英文授課打好基礎。

•並銜接中學文憑試HKDSE課程作好準備。

•分核心及延展課程  能因應學生程度而作剪裁。

•培養學生主動學習的精神。增強學生創意自學的能力。提高學生團隊協作能力。

•引入日常生活科技資訊元素,例如網絡資源、iPad、反轉課堂Flipped Lessons,於本科的教學活動中。

•本科經常在協作、同儕觀課、共同備課上優化,以達至照顧學習差異,改善課堂實踐,發揮教師專業。

•為學校STEM教育的主要學科,加設校本STEM 課程 (中一及中二)

學習活動



科學奇趣SUMMER FUN

•講課 - 課堂講課將輔以不同類型之教學資源,如多媒體錄影片段、投影片、模型教具、筆記、延伸閱讀材料等,務求讓同學透過不同方式促進學習。

•課堂練習 - 課堂練習有練習簿、校本工作紙等,練習簿可讓同學接觸不同類型之題目,校本工作紙主要針對同學面對思考性或延伸閱讀等題目,題目之闊度與深度得以同時照顧。

•實驗 - 本科將依進度安排合適之實驗予同學,同學須分組進行及完成。

•科學學會之課外活動 - 舉行多元活動以加強同學對科學之興趣。

教學語言銜接

 

本科於中一、中二每級均設有一班英文班及三班母語班。英文班全部教學內容均為英文版。母語班大部份教學內容均為中文版,另有一定數量的英文版延展課程。此安排方便銜接中三及新高中的中文版或英文版理科課程。

Subject Introduction and Objectives

This subject is an introductory course in various science-related electives in the new senior secondary curriculum. It aims to equip students with a foundation in the nature of science, theories, and the application of technology.

l   Added school-based STEM courses for Form 1 and Form 2

l   Implementing school-based active learning and scientific inquiry studies

l   Promoting electronic learning in science

l   Establishing professional learning communities in science

 

Subject Information

 To enhance the connection between integrated science and senior secondary science subjects, the integrated science subject has developed the "Science - Get Set Go!" English teaching materials.

 This subject is often optimized through collaboration, peer observation, and co-preparation to address learning differences, improve classroom practices, and enhance teacher professionalism.

 As the primary subject for the school's STEM education, a school-based STEM curriculum (for Form 1 and Form 2) has been added.

 

Learning Activities

 Science Fun Summer Fun: Lecture - Classroom lectures will be supplemented with various teaching resources, such as multimedia videos, slides, models, notes, and extended reading materials, to promote learning in different ways.

 Classroom exercises - Classroom exercises include exercise books and school-based worksheets. Exercise books provide a variety of questions, while school-based worksheets mainly target thinking or extended reading questions, addressing both breadth and depth of questions.

 Experiments - Appropriate experiments will be arranged for students according to the progress. Students must complete them in groups.

 Extracurricular activities of the Science Society - Various activities are held to enhance students' interest in science.

 

Language of Instruction

 For Form 1 and Form 2, there is one English class and three mother-tongue classes at each level. The English class has all teaching content in English, while the mother-tongue classes have most content in Chinese with some extended courses in English. This arrangement facilitates the transition to Form 3 and the new senior secondary Chinese or English science curriculum.
