世界歷史 History
The objectives of History subject are to help students:
Enhance their interest and enthusiasm in studying history, draw lessons from historical figures and events, and understand the present through the past.
Develop proper personal values, social perspectives, and a global outlook through understanding historical figures and events, thereby fostering good character.
Gain awareness and respect for diverse cultures by studying European and Asian history.
Promote recognition and understanding of past human activities and their connections to contemporary society, thereby comprehending causal relationships between events.
Cultivate fundamental historical research skills, including gathering and analyzing historical materials, comprehension, organization, critical thinking, and evaluative analytical abilities, thus fostering an objective attitude toward events and applying it in daily life.
Our History Department adopts a variety of learning activities to engage students with history. Some of the activities include:
1. A community visit to Tsim Sha Tsui to explore historical relics, monuments, and local intangible cultural heritage (jointly organized with the English Department).
2. Creative Learning, Unleashing Student Potential: Flexible and Dynamic Approaches to History Education
a) Design promotional posters for the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office to jointly promote the preservation and innovation of intangible cultural heritage.
b) Stamp Design – ‘Intangible cultural heritage – Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance’ (Theme: History and Modernity’
c) Design a shield with "personal characteristics" based on the concept of medieval knight shields.
d) Design a limited edition commemorative coin for the Hong Kong Monetary Authority to celebrate Hong Kong's return to the motherland.
3. Delve into history, engage in peer sharing, discussion, and observation to enhance social skills
a) Hong Kong during the Japanese occupation period
b) Cold War "Doomsday Clock"

本科的宗旨在幫助學生:
提高研習歷史之興趣及熱忱,從歷史中的人和事汲取經驗,鑑古知今。透過對歷史人物及史事之認識及瞭解,培養正確的個人價值觀、社會觀及世界觀,從而建立優良品德。
透過研習歐亞歷史,了解並尊重各地的文化。促進對人類過往活動之認識與瞭解,並與今日之社會互相連繫,從而了解事件之間的因果關係。
培育學生研習歷史的基本技能,包括搜集及分析史料、理解、組織、批判思考及評價等對事理之分析能力,從而建立對事物的客觀態度,並實踐於生活之上。
本校歷史科採取多元化學習活動,讓學生接觸歷史,啟發批判性思考、創意和社交感,部份活動如下:
(一) 尖沙咀社區參觀活動,探索文物古蹟及本地的非物質文化遺產 (與英文科合辦)
(二) 創意學習,啟發學生潛能,靈活並活潑地學習歷史 (校本題目)
為「非物質文化遺產辦事處」設計宣傳海報,共同推動「非遺」的傳承與創新精神
