We will be learning about plants and their role in ecosystems. We will learn that plants have needs and explore how plants meet their needs. We will also learn how plants and animals interact. There are some Mystery Science lessons and other activities to do below. Do the lessons in order. (You don't have to wait to do the art lesson - do it before the leaves are all gone!)
Click HERE to watch a Brain Pop Jr. video and HERE to watch another video about plant parts and why each part is important to the plant.
Go on a nature walk and try to gather 2 or 3 examples of each type of plant part: leaves, seeds, stems, roots (flowers too if you can find them). Keep them in a bag with a wet paper towel (so they don't dry out). You will look at them tomorrow.
Look closely at the plant parts you gathered yesterday. In your "My Plant Parts" book, draw pictures of each plant part. Try do draw 2-3 different examples of each plant part. If you have a magnifying glass, draw close ups of the plant parts in the circles.
