All-County Junior Concert Band
South Carolina native André North is an accomplished educator, arranger, and performer. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Education degree from the University of South Carolina and Masters of Music in Performance from Penn State University. Primary influences include David Stambler, Clifford Leaman, Matt Olson, Rebecca Phillips, and Andrew Gowan.
With a background spanning the course of over 20 years, Mr. North has been very active in the world of music. He has had the privilege of working in South Carolina public schools for the past 9 years. Professionally, Mr. North has performed worldwide at such venues as the Navy Band International Saxophone Symposium and the 15th World Saxophone Congress in Bangkok, Thailand. Awards include 2nd Place at the 2013 Penn State Graduate Exhibition, Semi-Finalist for the 2013 MTNA National Young Artists Competition, Finalist in the 2013 Penn State Orchestra Concerto Competition, and 1st Place at the 2012 Pennsylvania MTNA Young Artists Competition.
As an educator, Mr. North has done workshops and given several clinics throughout South Carolina. He has been a guest clinician for the BCSD All-County Band Clinic, the SCBDA Region 5 Band Clinic, the Charleston Southern University Music Camp, and the Richland District One Middle School Jazz Band Clinic. Mr. North’s bands have earned superior ratings in events such as the SCBDA CPA, Berkeley County CPA, the Carowinds Music Festival, the Berkeley County JPA and been a recipient of the SCBDA Outstanding Performance Award. His students have excelled at the highest level and gone on to earn top honors in the BCSD All-County Band, SCBDA Region Bands, the SCBDA All-State Bands, the SCBDA All-State Jazz Band, several college honor bands, and the SC MTNA Solo Competition. Most recently, Mr. North was selected as the 2022 Hanahan Middle School Teacher of the Year. Prior to that, Mr. North was selected as a recipient of the 2020 SCMEA Outstanding Young Music Educator Award.
Mr. North is currently the Director of Bands at Hanahan Middle School and Founder and Director of the award-winning BCSD Middle School Honors Jazz Band. He serves as a Lead Teacher for the Berkeley County Arts Department and is a middle school representative for the SCBDA Jazz Committee. He frequently performs with the Charleston Wind Ensemble and is featured on the internationally recognized, Habits Universal Series by GIA Publications.

All-County High School Concert Band
Adrian L. Wright is currently the band director at Dillon High School. He has served in this capacity for over twenty-two years. Mr. Wright received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education as a 1999 cum lade graduate of South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. While at South Carolina State University, he participated in the Marching “101” Band, Pep Band, Concert Band, and Jazz Band. He received a Master of Music Education Degree from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in August 2005, and also I studied at Boston University.
Ensembles under Mr. Wright’s direction at Dillon High School include the Dillon High School Marching Wildcat Band, Jazz Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, and Concert Band. Under his direction the marching band has performed throughout North and South Carolina and Georgia and has received several superior and excellent ratings at various events. The concert band program continues to make yearly improvements and has received ratings of Excellence and Superior at the SCBDA’s Concert Performance Assessment. Individual student musicianship continues to remain high with the selection of students to participate in various honor bands across the state including Regional and All-State Honor Bands. The Jazz Ensemble performs locally, and has performed for former South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford. The group has also been featured on Educational Television’s Road Show documentary of South Carolina.
Mr. Wright is a member of the National Association for Music Education, the South Carolina Band Director’s Association, the South Carolina Music Educator’s Association, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America. Aside from working with student musicians, Mr. Wright enjoys cycling and gardening. Mr. Wright resides in Dillon, South Carolina with his beautiful wife Kadra.

Dr. Bradley Genevro is Director of Bands and Professor of Conducting in the Greenwood School of Music at Oklahoma State University. In his duties at Oklahoma State, Dr. Genevro oversees all aspects of the Band Area. Prior to his appointment at OSU, he has served on the faculties of the University of Texas at El Paso, Messiah University and the University of North Texas. Ensembles, under Dr. Genevro’s leadership, have performed multiple times at state, national and international conventions. In addition, his groups have recordings released under both the Mark Custom and Klavier Record labels. His recordings have been reviewed in Fanfare Magazine with the following comments: “A superb disc,” “a magnificent statement of the highest professionalism possible from student ensembles.
Dr. Genevro maintains a very active schedule as a clinician, adjudicator, guest conductor and recording producer having worked across the US, Australia, Europe, Hong Kong and mainland China. As a recording producer, he has worked with groups such as the University of North Texas Wind Symphony, United States Air Force Band, Keystone Wind Ensemble, the University of Georgia Wind Symphony, the Sydney Conservatorium Wind Symphony and a variety of other professional and university ensembles.
Dr. Genevro holds professional memberships in the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, Oklahoma Music Educators Association, Oklahoma Bandmasters Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, National Association for Music Education, Phi Beta Mu, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Pi Kappa Lambda, Kappa Kappa Psi, Tau Beta Sigma, College Band Directors National Association and was elected to the prestigious American Bandmasters Association.
