Feedback to the department suggested smaller, structured community activities. Additionally, there was a desire for workshops. Hence mini workshops, and the excuse for a midweek boba drink!
These will happen as often as there are people willing to host a workshop.
Also, this website is a draft and will one day move to another space :)
Itโs fun and rewarding to share something with other people!ย
You and like 20-ish people will get boba and snacks
Itโs a great way to showcase your skills and add something to your portfolio
You can meet new people
They can be anything that anyone wants to present about:ย
a personal project youโve been working on,ย
a workshop to share a skill,ย
a call to collaborate on a common topic,ย
your own lightning TED Talk,ย
just hanging out and building community
Workshops should be about learning together and/or building community. They should also follow HMC Honor Code, where the official standards of conduct are:
Thoughtful respect for the rights of others;
Honesty and integrity in both academic and personal matters;
Responsible behavior both on and off campus;
Appropriate use of campus buildings and equipment, and;
Compliance with College regulations and policies
Wednesday afternoons during the Fall Semester, on certain dates.
The conference room is reserved from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Workshops can happen within this block.
If you're someone who wants these workshops to happen more often and/or is interested in managing them on your own, please reach out to Chelsey Calingo, ccalingo@g.hmc.edu.
