My name is Celia Koehler (she/her/hers) and I am one of our four LRC teachers. One of the main classes I teach is Learning Strategies.
Learning Strategies is a co-taught course for special education students participating in general education classes. In this class you will receive extra time and support in working towards the learning outcomes in your general education classes. The course is also designed to teach you strategies like time management, organization, and self-advocacy in addition to building your reading and writing skills to help you succeed in inclusion classes. You will find this class relevant because all of our activities will help you thrive in school. You will also have some autonomy and choice in how you spend your time. It will be powerful to learn more about yourself as a learner and practice advocating for your individual needs. In this class, you can expect to be challenged, grow as a student, and learn about yourself.
The course outcomes will center around self-awareness, social awareness and academic skill development.
