This page will be updated for Quarter 3 by February 2021
This is my sixth year teaching on the Tyee Campus and I love the tenacity of our students and how they become leaders in their own stories. I have taught students in all four grades of high school and I am excited to get back to my roots in literature!
I put a lot of love, effort, and time into my teaching. I find it rewarding when students find a text that inspires them or when they begin to use their analytical skills beyond class assignments. Our world is going through a lot right now and the great thing about literature is that it is always there for us as a refuge, sounding board, and mirror.
I really do love my job and a lot of my life is wrapped up in being a learner and a teacher. I love to travel, I've been to 14 countries and before COVID 19 I was supposed to go to South Korea, Vietnam and Cambodia - that will just have to wait for 2021 (crossing my fingers). My dad is one of my best friends and travel buddies, I often spend my weekends adventuring around Seattle with him. Beyond that I enjoy working out, reading, doing crafts, cooking, and dreaming of my next adventure. My favorite author is Joan Didion and I love books that range from Sci-Fi to Literary Fiction.
